The space ship sped through the galaxy on its journey of discovery. Its mission was to develop a benevolent support system for an alien society. The ship reached the solar system of planet earth in the year 2000 of the social calendar of this extraordinary planet.
Extraordinary in that life had evolved beyond the beginnings of technical discoveries. This planet had high levels of communication, transportation, and industry, which could guarantee the physical needs of a population of billions of citizens. Indeed, it was a planet of worthy investigation.
There was a striking physical similarity between Earth’s citizens and themselves. The difference was mainly of degree. Earthlings had smaller heads and eyes and possessed noticeably body hair. The travelers were uniformly developed between males and females these contrasts would be quite unsettling to earthlings.
The space explorer mission was the study of specie evolution without an interference with there development. It was desirable to explore slight guidance without direct interference. Interference from a much higher evolved society creates dependence and social decay.
(The slow social development of Earth’s native peoples is an example of such dependence). Then, they reasoned, how could guidance be instrumental without interference?
The voyagers knew that the strongest motivation in human development is the power of imagination. What people can conceive they can achieve? The present social conditions of Earth’s societies were disturbing to the star trekkers. They saw a world of crime, wars, poverty, corruption, economic domination and economic depression.
The challenge was to stimulate imagination towards correction without interference. Indeed, a challenge for an empathetic visit.
